Job Description

The Orchestra Manager is responsible for recruiting orchestral musicians for Origin events. For most events this is a small job with eight to ten orchestral musicians required, but once or twice a year it involves recruiting an entire orchestra from Origin’s extensive musician volunteer database. The Orchestra Manager is also responsible to develop the database further with additional contacts as they become available or are recommended by other musicians.

Requirements

  • Must be committed Christian in good standing with their local church
  • Must consent to the Origin Basis of Faith and Code of Conduct
  • Must be well-organised with good planning abilities
  • Must be a good communicator with good English-language skills. Spoken Afrikaans and/or isiXhosa would be an advantage.
  • Must communicate closely with Music department leadership – Music Team Leader and Artistic Director
  • Must have a good telephone manner
  • Must be an orchestral musician
  • Must be computer-literate, with internet access
