Kirk is an ordained minister, a respected worship leader, a published songwriter, an in-demand studio singer, and a professional counsellor. He was born and raised in Jacksonville, FL in the home of two educators. Early on Kirk's father, Camp Kirkland, became the instrumental director at their home church, First Baptist, so Kirk was raised loving the church and the music of the church. He was trained in music education and has a Bachelor's degree from Florida State University. He felt called to ministry while in college and has been in various forms of music ministry for over 30 years. Beginning in 1999 Kirk has travelled and sung with his best friend, Tim Henning, and their wives in a vocal group called Evidence. Their focus is to encourage and challenge the Body of Christ through music and testimony. Kirk felt called to more ministry training later in his career, so he completed a Master's degree in Counselling at Trevecca Nazarene University in 2008. Since then he's been the Minister of Music & Worship, and a Pastoral Counsellor, at Judson Baptist Church in Nashville, TN, where he resides with his wife of 26 years, Julianne, and their 3 children, Campbell, Kate and Caleb.
